SIZE: Since this hat sits perched on or astride the crown of your head rather than pulled down, it is estimated at One Size Fits All (or most) or Medium. Exterior measurements: 8” L X 7.5” W. On Interior, 7” L X 6.5” W. Interior circumference is 20.5”. Note that where this hat sits (diagonal at the crown) my head measures about 1/2” smaller than at middle of forehead where hat size is typically measured. Reminiscent of “It Girls” (women) of the 1960s, including Jackie Kennedy (later Jackie O), Audrey Hepburn and Edie Sedgwick. Background: A pillbox hat has a flat crown, straight, upright sides, and no brim. It is named after the small cylindrical or hexagonal cases that were used for storing or carrying a small number of pills. The pillbox hat gained popularity in the 1930s due to its elegant simplicity. Jacqueline Kennedy was well known for her pillbox hats in the early 1960s. — Fascinator Derby hat Headpiece Cap 1950s Cocktail hat Formal Elegant Twiggy Dior Chanel Oleg Beret Pillbox pill box hat Millinery
